White Oak Red Oak

White Oak is known for its golden gray color with brown undertones. Its light natural tones lend it to be stained in most shades and colors. It has long been a traditional flooring material in American homes because of its versatility. It can be used in a variety of styles from contemporary to traditional. White Oak comes in any width combination ranging from 3-9”, has lengths up to 14’ and an average length of 8’. A true hardwood, White Oak has a hardness rating of 1360 on the Janka hardness scale.

Red Oak is known for its more consistent light brown to pinkish-gray hues. It does not have the light golden tones of White Oak but when it is stained in medium to darker shades they are hard to tell apart. Red Oak comes in any width combination ranging from 3-9”, has lengths up to 14’ and an average length of 8’. Red Oak has a hardness rating of 1290 on the Janka hardness scale.

Hickory Walnut

Hickory which is from the northern United States has dramatic ranges in color from a light cr�me to brown. These color ranges can be toned down through different colored stains, but will not be as consistent as its southern relative, Pecan. Hickory comes in any width combination from 3-9”, has lengths up to 14’ and an average length of 8’. On the Janka scale Hickory has a rating of 1820 making it the hardest wood in North America, and a great choice for a floor.

Walnut is known for its swirling grain patterns and deep rich colors, which range from golden to brown with purplish hues and almost white sapwood. Walnut is often steamed to release a natural chemical in the wood which reduces the contrast from heart to sap. Our natural grade Walnut can have up to 10% sapwood while our Premium grade will have at most 5% sapwood. Walnut blends comfortably from rustic to formal settings and is perfect to create a rich and warm ambiance. Walnut comes in any width combination from 3-9”, has lengths that reach 12-14’, and an average length that falls between 6-8’. Walnut has a rating of 1010 on the Janka hardness scale.

Cherry Eastern White Pine

Cherry is known for its warm reddish brown tones which will become more enhanced as it ages. It has a very subtle grain and a wide variety of color. Our natural grade Cherry will have 10-15% sapwood and up to 5% sapwood in the premium grade. Cherry comes in any width combination from 3-9”, has lengths that reach 14’ and an average that falls between 6-8’. Cherry has a rating of 950 on the Janka hardness scale.

Eastern White Pine is known for its faint grain lines, even honey tones and red knots. This is the floor of the early settlers and it still exists today in many homes which are over 200 years old. These early homes with original floors contain a link to our past in the distressing and wear patterns that have occurred over the years. New Eastern White Pine floors will also naturally distress that will add to its charm and sense of your family�s history. Eastern White Pine comes in widths from 5-12” and lengths up to 16’. It is the softest wood that we use for flooring and measures only 380 on the Janka hardness scale.

Doug Fir  

Doug Fir has light honey tones and a distinct grain that is more suitable to the rustic mountain home and cabin. It can be sanded smooth or left with a circular saw mark that stands out when stained. It lends itself to most colors and will naturally distress and create wear patterns over time. Doug Fir comes in widths from 4-8”, is dimensionally stable and strong for its weight, measuring 660 on the Janka hardness scale.
